Skill for Claude

Customer Avatar Scan

Builds one clear picture of your real customer out of calls you have already had, in their own words rather than your guesses. Pulls transcripts from Fathom or Microsoft 365 if you connect them, or works from anything you paste.

In Claude, go to Customize then Skills, and upload the zip exactly as you downloaded it. Do not unzip it first. Turn on code execution in the same settings, because Skills will not run without it. Then say "build my customer avatar". A free Claude account is enough.

Adding a Skill to Claude

The whole install, step by step.

A Skill is a folder of instructions Claude picks up and runs. You add it once and it stays in your account. Here is every click, in order. It takes about a minute.

  1. Download the zip

    Use the Download button on the card above. You get a single zip file, usually in your Downloads folder. Leave it as a zip. Claude wants the archive exactly as it arrived, so do not open it up and pull the files out.

  2. Check whether your browser unzipped it for you

    Some browsers expand downloads on their own, and you end up with a folder instead of a file. If that happened, either compress the folder back into a zip, or turn off the setting that expands downloads and download it again. What you upload must be the zip.

  3. Turn on code execution in Claude

    Open claude.ai, go to Settings, and switch on code execution. Skills need it. Without it a Skill fails quietly: nothing happens, no error, and it looks like the download is broken when it is not. Do this before you upload, and you only ever do it once.

  4. Add the zip as a Skill

    Go to Customize, then Skills, then upload. Choose the zip. Claude reads it and the Skill appears in your list with its own name. It is now part of your account, not part of one conversation, so it is there tomorrow too.

  5. Start a new chat and say the line

    Every download carries a HOW-TO with one sentence to type. For the Customer Avatar Scan it is: build my customer avatar. Start a fresh chat, say the line, and the Skill takes over from there.

The first run

What to expect the first time.

It asks before it works. You will get a few questions about your business, and the answers do not need to be polished. Rough and honest gets you a better result than tidy and vague.

Then it goes quiet for a moment while it runs. That pause is the code execution doing its job. When it comes back you get the finished piece of work, and you can tell it what to change. Nothing leaves your account, and nothing is sent to me.

If something looks wrong

Three things it usually is.

I uploaded it and nothing happens when I ask.

Code execution is switched off. Go to Settings, turn it on, then start a new chat and ask again. This is the cause almost every time.

Claude will not accept the file.

You are probably uploading a folder or a single file from inside the zip. Upload the zip itself, exactly as it downloaded.

Do I need a paid Claude account?

No. A free account runs any of these. If you use it heavily you will meet the free limits sooner, but nothing here requires an upgrade to try.

Where does my information go?

Into your own Claude account and nowhere else. I do not see what you type, and I am not sent a copy of the output.
